The Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI) are one of the most dynamic sectors in Europe, with a remarkable share in EU’s GDP and workforce. CCSI are at the same time key drivers of sustainable growth and job creation across Europe and important factors of creativity and innovation to other sectors, while significantly contributing to social and cultural sustainability. The small size of these companies (around 90% are micro/small/medium-sized) in combination with the severe effects from the economic and the pandemic crises, make the need for immediate multi-level support of the CCSI imperative. CCSI seek greater guidance to develop themselves via mentorship, networking, and encouragement for collaborative projects and experimentation. On the other hand, other (non-creative per se) sectors are increasingly recognizing the value of working with CCSI to implement design thinking, aesthetics, cross-disciplines, human-centred approaches, strong communication and storytelling.

The main scope of the CCSI4CCSI project is to facilitate the triple transition (green, digital, social) for and with the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI) at regional and interregional level. More specifically, the project aims to:
- Support CCSI actors to develop, transform and innovate,
- Promote synergies within the regional ecosystem and cross-fertilisation of CCSI with other smart specialisation priority sectors,
- Inspire community-based projects led by CCSI to jointly address local social challenges.
Through the interregional learning exchange, the relevant policy instruments are expected to be improved, achieving systematic support (education, incentives, research) towards CCSI. This support aims to create a favourable “climate” for creative professionals, enabling them to keep up with the worldwide trends, stand out in the competitive market and contribute to regional development.
The project activities will lead to certain deliverables / outputs:
- 6 EoE events
- 15 identified good practices
- 1 Joint study on CCSI needs and trends
- 1 Benchmarking of good practices on green & digital CCSI and 1 on CCSI Networks & Supporting Structures
- Policy recommendations on the triple transition of CCSI.
