
In the framework Design4Innovation project, KEPA organized meetings and thematic workshops in Thessaloniki (09/05/2017) and in Athens (11/05/2017) within the overall goal to elaborate and implement Design Action Plans for enhancing SMEs’ competitiveness through a more strategic use of Design. In more detail:
A. 1st National Stakeholder Group Meeting and Thematic Workshop in Athens (11/05/2017)
KEPA hosted the 1st National Stakeholder Group Meeting of Design4Innovation project in Greece, which took place in Athens on the 11th of May 2017. After getting the participants to better understand the organization’s interest and activities, they were introduced to the goals and activities of the project, focusing on the Action Plan to be delivered at the end of the 1st Phase of the project’s implementation. The stakeholders were very actively involved and were willing to contribute through their knowledge, experience and networks. The last part of this 1st meeting was dedicated to a discussion between stakeholders, so as to define ways of cooperating and contributing to the build-up of the 1st Greek Design Action Plan. At the same day, the 1st Thematic Workshop took place, focusing on “Mapping the Greek Design Ecosystem”. The participants cooperated in order to identify and record the main stakeholders in both innovation and design ecosystem. Afterwards, they noted down the ecosystem’s strengths and weaknesses to end up with specific propositions on how to move towards a design-enabling environment.
B. 1st Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting and Thematic Workshop in Thessaloniki (09/05/2017)
Wishing to make the most out of the opportunities offered by its participation in Design4Innovation project, KEPA held in OK!Thess premises the 1st Regional Stakeholder Group meeting and thematic workshop on the 9th of May 2017. During the meeting, which was attended by representatives from regional policy making organisations on innovation and SMEs’ issues, the ways of collaboration and the contribution of the stakeholders in formulating the action plan were discussed. Moreover, the participants proceeded in mapping the regional innovation/design ecosystem during the thematic workshop that followed.
