
On November 20th and 21st 2018, KEPA’s representative participated in the BEDA Insight Forum on Next Practice in Design Action Plans, which took place in Brussels.
Mrs Anna Wicher, project coordinator of Design4Innovation project, gave an overview of the current situation of the Design Action Plans in Europe, including the 11 countries that have adopted Design Action Plans for this decade and presented an in-depth analysis of seven action plans, which define the main beneficiaries and the basic mechanisms of intervention.
Then, representatives from Finland, Denmark, Singapore, Hing Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, Latvia, Ireland, Spain and Malta, presented the actions in their countries and a representative form the European Commission, Mrs Silvia Draghi, announced EC’s intention to develop a new policy on Creative Industries and gave advice on how the Design community could reassure the existence of Design supportive actions within the new agenda. Furthermore, the Commission will elaborate a new innovation policy, in which Design should continue to be a priority.
