Conduction of the 6th meeting with the stakeholders for Innova-FI project
KEPA held the 6th stakeholders’ meeting on Friday 19th of November 2021 about “Financial instruments in the priority sectors of the region” in the frame of the project ‘Financial Instruments for Innovation’ – Innova–FI of the European Interregional Cooperation Program INTERREG EUROPE. The event was attended by representatives of public authorities, academic and research institutions, programmes / financial instruments management organisations and public enterprises.
The scope of the meeting was to inform the participants about the innovation strategy of the region of Central Macedonia and the possibilities to fund actions within the priority sectors of the region. After the relevant presentations, a discussion on the challenges and the weaknesses of each sector followed and some needs were highlighted, such as the better connection and cooperation between business and research, enhancement of the technological innovation and competencies of the human resource in several sectors, front-loading financing of the companies etc.
At the final part, the attendants had the opportunity to share concrete ideas, proposals, projects and actions, aiming at increasing the investments in the new programming period, in relation to flexible financial instruments, funding extroversion activities, incentives to attract funding, stimulation to establish start-ups etc.
