With strong creative energy and a spirit of collaboration, the “Co-Create your Game Idea” co-creation workshops were successfully implemented by KEPA as part of the pilot phase of the Horizon Europe i-Game Project. On February 11 and 18, 2026, the Hellenic Design Centre hosted two dynamic Hands On experience sessions, bringing together co-design teams from different yet complementary fields.
Professionals from the fashion and textile sectors met with game designers and game developers, united by a common goal: to explore how business objectives, target audiences, and the core values of Participation, Sustainability, and Inclusion can be transformed into innovative digital game concepts. The workshops offered a meaningful opportunity for learning, collaboration, and networking, unlocking new perspectives for creative synergy.
Through the project’s new open digital co-creation platform, participants worked collaboratively using design thinking tools such as Personas and role cards, aiming to better understand end users and design targeted gaming experiences. Working in teams, they mapped out their ideas, co-designed their games, and – through a structured co-creation process – refined their concepts into concrete proposals.
The highlight of the workshops was the presentation of each team’s Game Design Document (GDD) for the video or mobile games they developed. A GDD thoroughly outlines every aspect of a game’s design and development – from the initial concept and gameplay mechanics to the storyline, characters, visuals, sound, interface, and technical specifications – ensuring that the entire team (programmers, artists, fashion designers) shares a clear and common understanding of the final product.
The creative journey, however, does not end here. In late spring, a Game Jam is scheduled to take place, where teams of game developers and creators will transform the “Roadmaps” into functional game prototypes within a limited timeframe of 24–72 hours. At the end of this process, the games developed during the Game Jam will be available for testing by end users, paving the way for innovative approaches centered on sustainable fashion.
