GREENSMES
GREENSMES - Enhancing SMEs’ modernization and green innovation and transition towards successful sustainability by transnational collaborative practices and tools.
In the IPA ADRION area, despite the increasing importance of green innovation, efforts to promote growth through green economy actions remain fragmented and short-ranged. There is a lack of a rounded awareness of the multifaceted nature of this issue.
The GREENSMES project aims to boost green innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in the IPA ADRION region through transnational quadruple helix synergies, fostering the collaboration among research institutions, businesses, governments, and civil society. By focusing on green transition and clean technologies, the project supports SMEs in adopting sustainable business models and modernizing their production processes. Key outputs include strategies for effective cross-border cooperation, an action plan for sustaining these initiatives, and pilot actions to test and scale green solutions across sectors such as energy, ICT, and smart mobility.
Aligned with the EU's Agenda 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), GREENSMES addresses the fragmented efforts in the region by enhancing awareness and capacity building among SMEs. The project will create lasting impact through a transnational strategic network, promoting continuous learning, innovation, and sustainability beyond its duration.
The GREENSMES project is dedicated to fostering green innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs across the IPA ADRION region. By developing a transnational green innovation ecosystem, the project addresses the triple objective of raising awareness, bridging innovation gaps, and increasing the capacity of stakeholders. Through a combination of research, strategy development, and pilot actions, GREENSMES promotes collaboration between R&D institutions, businesses, and governments to facilitate the adoption of sustainable technologies and business models. The project emphasizes the importance of green and circular economy practices in key sectors like energy, ICT, manufacturing, and smart mobility, aiming to create tangible improvements in SME competitiveness and sustainability.
Aligned with regional and national priorities for green development, GREENSMES leverages training programs, collaboration initiatives, and a proposed voucher scheme to support SMEs in implementing green innovations. By providing matchmaking services with transnational experts and solution providers, the project bridges the gap between supply and demand for modernization and sustainability, fostering cross-border cooperation and contributing to the long-term transformation of the region's business landscape.
